Bookfame first began its tradition of providing unmatched personal service to traveling authors more than twenty years ago. In 1980, Ann Woodroof received a phone call from her college roommate, a publicist at Simon and Schuster. Ann's roommate suggested that based on her personality and background she would be the perfect host for an author visiting Washington, D.C. Ann loved the experience and, realizing how valuable the service would be to any publisher, she joined with her friend John Seel to create Woodroof and Seel Associates. Later, David Wenger took over the business and changed the name to the Wenger Agency. Through a combination of excellent personalized service and attention to detail, David grew the firm in the 1990's from just 4 or 5 authors a month to more than 800 authors a year entirely through word of mouth and recommendations from satisfied clients. Most recently, after spending eight years with David learning the business from the ground up, Paul Peachey took over the firm in July 2000 and renamed it Bookfame, Inc.
